Kayla's Whole Grain Brown Rice Pudding with leftover rice

Kayla Jaye and her sister Jasmine make a 
Reduced Sugar Whole Grain Brown Rice Pudding 
with leftover rice

Step 1: Gather ingredients
Ingredients:
2 cups of milk
3 cups leftover brown rice
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar free sweetener
1/4 cup of raisins
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Optional:
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
4 tbsps heavy cream
5-6 saffron strands (crushed)
1/3 cup toasted coconut flakes (topping) 




Step 1: Add rice


Step 2: Add nutmeg



Step 3: Add cinnamon

Step 4: Add salt

Step 5: Stir


Step 6: Add milk






Step 7: Add brown sugar


Step 8: Add sweetener


Step 9: Add vanilla




Step 10: Stir and add optional ingredients (cardamom, heavy cream, and saffron) if desired

Step 11: Add raisins



Step 12: Stir

Step 13: Place on stove top and turn on to medium heat


Step 14: Stir until hot

Step 15: Reduce heat to medium low and continue to stir regularly

Step 15: Continue stirring over medium low heat.


Step 16: Stir some more

Step 17: Serve

Kayla makes Whole Grain Banana Bread


Kayla's Whole Grain, Reduced Sugar Banana Bread

Ingredients
2 cups very ripe Bananas
1/2 cup Mediterranean Blend Olive/Canola Oil
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Splenda
2 large Eggs
3 tablespoons Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 cup All-Pupose White Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup chopped Walnuts
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

Step 1: Gather ingredients

Step 2: Preheat oven to 350° 

Step 3: Peel the bananas, break them into pieces and then put them into a bowl




Step 4: mash bananas with hands




Step 4: finish mashing bananas with a spoon

Step 5: Add oil


Step 6: Add sugar

Step 7: Add sweetener

Step 8: Add eggs


Step 9: Add vanilla

Step 10: Stir



Step 11: Add all purpose flour

Step 12: Add whole grain flour

Step 13: Add milk

Step 14: Add baking soda, baking powder, and salt
Step 15: Add cinnamon

Step 16: Chop walnuts and add to measuring cup




Step 17: Add walnuts

Step 18: Stir

Step 19: Grease baking pan



Step 20: Pour batter into pan
Step 21: Scrape remaining batter into pan with spatula


Step 22: Put bread into oven




Step 23: set timer for 1 hour
Step 24: Sprinkle the top of loaf with sugar



Step 25: Bake for 1 hour or until a tester come out clean when inserted into center of loaf


Step 26: Insert a tester into center of bread to test for doneness
Step 27: After cooling for 10 minutes in pan, remove bread from pan and cool on a wire rack

Step 28: Enjoy!
